Abstract In order to explore the best ratio of the semi-coke injection in blast furnace, the combustion performance of the mixed coal consisting of Baishan anthracite, Shenhua bituminous, and the semi-cokeby were studied using thermogravimetry analytical technology. The results showed that with the increase of semi-coke content, ignition temperature and burnout temperature of blends tended to decrease, while the time of combustion and the combustibility index increased.With the increase of heating rate, peak reaction rate, mean reaction rate, and combustion characteristic index all increased. The combustion process dynamics of mixed coal under different schemes were analyzed using the conversion rate method of KAS. With the increase of semi-coke content was increased from 0 to 40%, the activation energy were 115.25, 113.03, 112.22, 108.20, and 104.53 kJ/mol, respectively. The addition of semi-coke can reduce the apparent activation energy of blends.
