After introducing 56Nb steel, in order to meet performance requirement of 56Nb steel fish plate on the railroad rail, the production technique of 56Nb steel fish plate has been adopted under the factory equipment conditions: 450 kg steel ingot is prepared by melting in 8 t arc furnace and casting at 1 570-1 580 ℃ which is heated to 1 250-1 270 ℃, trimmed to 185 mm×195 mm bloom after rolling by 600 series 2stand rolling mill; then rolled 15 times by 600 series 2stand rolling mill when steel ingot is heated to 1 050-1 150 ℃, thereafter, steel ingot is rolled to 60 kg/m fish plate materials through 3 times by 350 series rolling mill, and the rolling temperature is about 900 ℃. Finally, it should be quenched in 70±10 ℃ water, tempered at 560 ℃ for 2 hours in a cap cover furnace. After examining hardness, tensile, cold bending, impact properties and analyzing metallurgical phase, the results show that the quality of 56Nb steel fish plate accords well with TB/T234593 《technical requirement of 43-75 kg/m fish plate for railroad rail》, and its toughness index is improved markedly compared to the one that is prepared by melting in open hearth furnace.
