AbstractAccording to the metallurgical condition of Chengde Jianlong Special Steel Co., Ltd., the effects of basicity, TiO2 content and MgO content on the viscosity and melting temperature of vanadium- titanium BF slag were studied by using devices of viscosity test. The results show that viscosity and melting temperatures decrease firstly with increasing the basicity of blast furnace slag, then increase rapidly after the basicity increasing to 125. With increasing the TiO2 content in slag, viscosity and melting temperatures of slag decrease firstly and then increase. MgO addition is beneficial to reducing the melting temperature of slag, and the maximum melting temperature of slag is 1297. Overall, the optimum parameters of vanadium and titanium slag with good fluidity should be controlled as following: 115-120 for basicity, below 10 mass% for TiO2 content and 12 mass%-14 mass% for MgO content.
