Composition optimization of DC06 IF steel refining slag and control of oxygen in steel and slag

Abstract:Abstract: Interstitial free atomic steel (IF steel) has extremely strict requirements for aluminum inclusions. In order to smelt clean IF steel, the thermodynamic software FactSage 7.0 was used to optimize the calculation of IF steel refining slag system, and six groups of industrial experiments were carried out to verify the calculation. According to the results, improvement measures were proposed. In the experiment, oxygen sensor, carbon sulfur analyzer and ICPAES were used to detect the composition of steel and slag, and the composition and quantity of inclusions in steel were detected by ASPEX automatic scanning electron microscope. The results of thermodynamic calculation and experimental study show that the carbon content in molten steel should be controlled at 0.04 mass% at the end of converter decarburization, FeO content in converter slag should be kept within 14.9 mass%, and dissolved oxygen content in steel should be reduced to 470×10-6. During refining, the furnace ratio of supplemental blowing of oxygen to refining furnace should be controlled below 64%, and the amount of secondary oxygen blowing should be controlled within 17m3, the content of SiO2 in refining slag should be controlled at 6 mass%-8 mass%, MgO content and TFe content should be controlled at 6 mass% and 5 mass%-10 mass%, respectively, and the ratio of CaO to Al2O3 should be controlled at 1.4-1.6, so the content of dissolved oxygen in steel can be controlled at 10×10-6, and the refining slag system has better adsorption on Al2O3. At the same time of refining deoxidization, the secondary oxidation of molten steel is reduced to achieve the purpose of clean smelting of IF steel.
