Abstract

Abstract: Reported literature on the inclusion deformation during the rolling process is summarized. The research methods, characterization parameters, and influence factors are reviewed. It is summarized that inclusions with smaller Young′s modulus have better deformability during the cold rolling. Inclusions with low viscosity in the hot rolling are more conducive to the deformation. The inclusion deformation is significantly influenced by the rolling temperature in the range around the intersection point of the flow stress curve between the inclusion and the steel. The influence of the inclusion size and reduction on inclusion deformation are also discussed. The quantitative relationship between property and deformability of inclusions will be a key issue in future study.
