Development of 610 MPa Grade High Strength Steel Plate for Oil Storage Tank

Abstract

The development history of high strength steel plate for large crude oil storage tanks has been briefly described. The mechanical properties and impact properties of different testing steels are measured, and the microstructure and fracture appearance of testing steel are analyzed. According to the experimental results of testing steel, the reasonable chemical composition of high strength steel plate for large crude oil storage tanks has been proposed. The 610 MPa grade high strength steel plate has been successfully developed, and TMCP process and offline thermal refining process can be adopted to produce high strength steel plate for large crude oil storage tanks.
