Abstract:The secondary cooling process control model is very important for the control of the quality of the billet in the continuous casting process, a 180mm billet caster lacks more refined secondary cooling process control model, which is not conducive to the improvement of the billet quality. For the caster, this paper comprehensively considers the influence of the casting speed v (m/min) and the superheat ΔT(°C) on the cooling water volume of each section in the secondary cooling zone, and determines a more advanced secondary cooling control model,then combining with the off-line simulation research, the reasonable values of a、b、c、d in the model are determined, and the value of d is related to the casting speed. The simulation results meet the requirements of the metallurgical criteria, and the billet could achieve uniform cooling, which indicate that the determined secondary cooling process model is conducive to the improvement of the quality of the billet.
