Abstract：Mould oscillation is one of the key technologies in continuous casting. Its stability and accuracy greatly influence the bloom quality and the output of the caster. It is very necessary to examine the mould oscillation system after a period of service. In the article, the special designed measuring equipment has been applied to examine the stroke and wave shape of the oscillator in Beiman Special Steel bloom caster. It has been demonstrated that there are such problems as the mould vibration platform bending, vibration in side and arc direction, deviation of the main vibration amplitude from the set value and serious wear and tear in the oscillation system. The oscillation system must be overhauled to secure the stability and accuracy of mould oscillation.
