Abstract:On the basis of the thermodynamic analysis of solute redistribution, a slab central segregation model was established, which is called “solute precipitation quantity” model, and the simulation result was analyzed. The results show that, the origin of solute precipitation during the solute redistribution process is the existence of chemical potential gradient; the carbon concentration of Q235B slab central line increases suddenly to maximum 0.76% at the end of solidification; once the casting speed changes from 1.2 m/min to 1.6 m/min, the maximum segregation degree will increase from 5.057 to 5.103.
