Abstract：The situation of using nailshooting technique in the shell thickness measuring of Han Steel continuous slab caster was introduced. According to the solidification law, the thickness of the shell can be measured by the nailshooting and the synthetic solidification coefficient, as well as the liquid core length of billet can be calculated, which provided the foundation of the optimal secondary cooling.
