Abstract：Conglutinating breakout is a common style on breakout accidents in Slab continuous casting. Analyses on the cause of breakout in slab continuous caster at Chongqing Steel-Making Plant from 2010.12 to 2012.3 was carried out. It was believed that poor performance of covering slag, fluctuation of liquid level, frequent change of pulling rate,submersed nozzle bias flow are the main reasons for sticking breakout. Improvements and preventive measures were proposed and good results were obtained.
