Abstract：The current limitations of the continuous casting mold oscillation mode of production and its problems are introduced, and the types of casting defect and causes are analyzed. Newly developed principles and advantages of non-vibrating mould are proposed, and the method to use a non-vibrating mould for production of high quality round slabs, round billets in mold and hollow tubes is presented.
