Abstract：Some slabs were tested by using common detection methods, including in situ analysis, high magnification observation and dendrite observation. The results showed that the segregation of C element resulted in center segregation of Q345 steel slabs. It was found that the solute converging points superposed the micropores and the negative segregation valleys always adjoined the positive peaks. The phenomenon proved that the negative pressure sucking effect induces center segregation. Meanwhile, the results also showed that the slab center segregation was induced by muti-driving force.
