Abstract��Based on analysis of the theoretical model in the design and check of roller layout for slab caster, a computer aided design software for roller layout of slab caster has been developed. The design and checking calculation of roller layout can be performed after the input of basic parameters, and dimension parameters of roller layout can be given. Under the same design conditions, after comparing the roller layout presented by the software with the roller parameters of actual caster, the result shows that the roller layout determined is in good agreement with the real caster. Meanwhile, the check indexes meet the requirement and the amount of bulging deformation is even better than the actual caster. So the design result is available for practical application.
