Abstract:In order to resolve the high incident rate of cross crack in slab produced by steel plant thick slab caster, continuous casting process using the revolver cooling system for continuous caster was studied by ABAQUS software. The FEM model of revolver cooling system for continuous casting rollers is established to calculate the temperature field. The result clearly shows that the roller system can meet the continuous casting requirement by using revolver cooling system. Based on the above research, the technology of semi-revolver cooling system is developed for continuous casting which can meet the requirements of the properties of thick slab caster, and also the manufacturing production. From the result, it can be seen that the quality of slab is greatly improved after adopting this technology.
