Abstract:Banded structures of gear steel SAE8620H of 100 mm or more in diameter were analyzed. The results showed that improving the superheat of molten steel, accelerating the draw rate of continuous casting and hot transportation and hot charging, increased the formation probability of banded structures more greatly or equal to 2.5 grade, and the cooperation of the disadvantage factor significantly promoted the formation of banding structures. Based on the analyses, the controlling method for banding structures was given.
