Abstract:Long time monitoring is carried out by the thermal couple temperature measuring system and the mold oscillation monitor system. The results indicate that there are strong relationships between the strand solidification in the mold and the copper temperature field or the condition of the mold oscillator. The unstableness of the temperature field and the mold oscillation are always occurred at the same time. In the earlier period of the casting, the solidification of the strand is unstable, the temperature fluctuation is strong and the oscillator deflection is great. The trend of the nonuniformity of strand shell temperature is greater as increasing the casting speed. The heat transfer efficiency is higher and the temperature is more stable under the condition of protection casting than that under the condition of opening casting.
