Abstract:To find out the reason for line-sliver defects occurring on the surface of 409L hot-rolled plate, the microscopic morphology and composition of the line-sliver defects were investigated using SEM and EDS. The results show that line-sliver defects on the hot-rolled plate surface are caused by the inclusions in the steel and enclosed slag. The technology improvements have been proposed on the basis of research. The occurrence of line-sliver defects on hot-rolled plates is significantly reduced.
