Water model study of turbulence lnhibitor with filter in continuous casting tundish

Abstract:The influence of fluid flow field and inclusion removal after adding filter to turbulence inhibitor in continuous casting tundish were preliminarily studied through water model experiment. The flow situation in tundish was studied with coloring agent, and removals were measured with polyethylene particles. The results show that the time of arrival to diversion hole in baffle is extended, and removal of inclusions with different sizes increases by almost 5% after adding filter to turbulence inhibitor.
