Abstract��The SS400-A/B low silicon steel is successfully developed by modifying the key factors in the steelmaking process�� such as control C content of converter endpoint�� increasing the mass of refining slag�� deoxidation without increasing Si content�� protective casting in the whole process�� blowing argon into the stopper�� etc. The practice results show that the molten steel has a good castability�� the chemical composition can totally meet the requirements of the customers�� and the inclusions are well controlled.
