Abstract:During the peritectic steel (PS) casting process, a mild cooling mold flux with low heat transfer density was used to alleviate surface longitudinal cracks due to peritectic transformation. A new peritectic steel mold flux with Co2O3 reduced the heat flux density, and the optimal content was found to be 2.0wt%. Different basicity was fixed to research the effect of basicity on mold flux heat flux density, and the result showed that high basicity was better for decreasing heat flux density of peritectic steel mold flux, and the basicity keep consistent with the crystallinity of flux.
