Abstract:Middle crack of billet produced by one billet caster frequently occurred. On the basis of the mathematical model of solidification process of the continuous casting of billet and the analysis of the data from production site,the effect of nozzle spacing on middle crack of billet was studied. The results showed that nozzle spacing should be designed properly according to the dimensions of the billet and the steel grade.
