Abstract:On the background of lowering the cost and increasing the efficiency, the production technological process was simplified and composition was optimized when the Q235B continuous casting slabs were produced in steelmaking plant. According to the new process, there are many internal cracks on Q235B continuous casting slab. By data statistics, macroscopic examination and SEM analysis, the results showed that the Q235B internal cracks were caused by bad deoxidization in molten steel, high inclusion content and unreasonable controlling of casting speed and the secondary cooling. By deep deoxidization, extending soft argon blowing time and reducing the casting speed, the occurrence rate of internal cracks on Q235B continuous casting slabs is reduced to that of the original process under the condition of [w[Mn]/w[S]≤]30 in the new process.
