Abstract:Nitrogen instead of argon protective casting technology was used for tundish and long nozzle in continuous casting process of 0Cr18Ni9 stainless steel. The oxygen content and mechanical properties of cold plate in different process conditions were compared, and nitrogen absorption of nitrogen protective casting technology was evaluated. The results show that the average nitrogen absorption content is 11×10-6, nitrogen protective casting has no effect on oxygen content and mechanical properties of cold plate. Therefore, the nitrogen protective casting technology during continuous casting process of 0Cr18Ni9 stainless steel was feasible, which can save production cost greatly.
