Abstract:The F-EMS has played an important role in quality improvement for billet center, and the installation location of the F-EMS is the basis of effective functioning of the F-EMS. In the production process, the F-EMS should be installed in the location where the non-solidification rate is 25%-35%, which is often determined through the rivet pin shooting experiments. In the rivet pin shooting experiments for high carbon steel, the steel pins are often not melted, resulting in a difficulty in distinguishing the solid-liquid phase region, and the installation is not accurate. Good results have been achieved by using a suitable material to make steel pins and successfully applied into the rivet pin shooting experiments for high carbon steel.
