Abstract:Aiming at the defects such as crack edge, burr and crack in the production process of low-temperature hot-rolled section steels, the defects were studied by means of metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscopy and EDS energy spectrum analysis. The results show that residual arsenic and copper enriching in the surface of the steel substrate and grain boundary near the surface and the internal crack of cracked edge. The mechanism of As,Cu intensifying the cracks of microalloyed billet and rolling piece was analyzed . The improvement of the control of As content below 0.008% and Cu content below 0.020% in the molten iron was proposed to prevent the residual elements from being harmful to the surface quality of the key varieties of steels such as low-temperature section steel.
