Abstract:The water distribution of two spray nozzles for secondary cooling in continuous casting machines were measured in the lab. The water distribution along a line was converted to a distribution along the spraying angle, which was found to be independent of the height of the nozzle placement. The angular distribution was fitted with three Gaussian distributions. The fitting parameters reflected the true characteristics of the nozzles. This study provided new insights for spray nozzle tests.
