Abstract:The law of composition change of mixed casting slab with different steel grades in actual production was studied. The composition change of mixed casting slab accorded with logarithmic function. With the increase of tundish remaining steel, the mixing degree of molten steel decreases under the same tapping amount. Composition changes faster at the center of cross section than at the edge. The impact depth of liquid core increases with the increase of casting speed and slab width. According to the actual data of the mixed casting slab composition, the prediction model of the composition of the mixed casting slab is established, which does not depend on the numerical or water model experiments. The field application results show that the prediction deviation of mixing degree is less than 5%, with an average of 2.9%, and the prediction deviation of impact depth at the center of slab is 6.14%. This fully illustrates the accuracy of the prediction model.
