Abstract:The secondary cooling rule of a continuous caster which could produce rectangular bloom and beam blank was studied in this paper. Water ratio and water proportion in inner side, outer side and narrow face of each secondary cooling zone are comprehensively analyzed and investigated referring to the steel grade, specific surface area, structural character of caster and casting speed. Based the investigation, this paper corrected the traditional formula of secondary cooling and provided a basis for designing the secondary cooling system of bloom and beam blank continuous caster.
