Abstract:Due to the thin rolling thickness of tinplate products, the quality of tinplate used for packaging must be strictly controlled and must not have defects. Therefore, it is particularly necessary to explore the composition, morphology, size, and quantity distribution of the inclusions in the tinplate cast slab. The size and quantity distribution of inclusions in the tin-plated substrate steel casting slab were inspected and analyzed by using high-frequency water-immersion ultrasonic testing technology, and the composition, types and morphology of inclusions in the tin-plated substrate steel casting slab were analyzed by combining scanning electron microscope and slime method. The results show that there are obvious inclusions at 1/4 of the inner arc and the outer arc of the cast slab. The number density of inclusions in the whole range is 6.25×102 m-3, and the number density of local inclusions is 3.33×109 m-3; the main composition of large inclusions is Al2O3, and there are a small amount of inclusions such as SiO2 and CaO in the cast slab. In addition, large inclusions containing K2O are also found.
