Experimental Study on Inclusion Removal in Slab Continuous Casting Mold by Water Modeling |

Abstract Inclusion removal with three kinds of diameter was simulated by using different liquid flow rate,gas flow rate, and purging plug type in water model. The results show that the inclusion removal efficiency decreases rapidly as the water flow rate increases to a critical value, while it intends to slow as the water flow rate continues to enlarge. The removal efficiency increases not much with gas blowing than that without gas blowing. Moreover, as the gas flow rate enlarges, there is a modest increase of the removal efficiency due to three factors including the probability of inclusions attachment to the bubbles, the bubbles region distribution and their quantities distribution.
