Abstract In this paper, By taking temperature distribution in mold round billet of 40Cr Horizontal Continuous Casting process as the research object ,by means of Solidification/Melting models of Fluent software and pin shooting jointly studied on temperature distribution and solidification heat transfer process of 40Cr in different drawing blank technics and did analysis inspection the tested samples. Study found in the casting speed V =2.35(m/min), pouring temperature T = 1540℃, the superheat of tundish Δ T = 36℃, which meet the product requirements and temperature distribution uniform stable , high casting quality and output. Research shows that the study of temperature distribution and solidification heat transfer process of mold varying drawing blank technics on the Horizontal Continuous Casting have a positive effect to improve the quality of steel , developed reasonable drawing blank technics parameters, the lower the quality of steel tube defects and improve slab quality.
