Industrial Test of Speed Increase for Φ150mm Round Billet Continuous Caster |

Abstract In order to improve the productivity, industrial test of speed increase has been carried out for round billet continuous caster. The high temperature mechanical property of steel 20G is measured, the secondary cooling equipments is rebuilt and process parameters such as superheat, mold oscillation, secondary cooling water distribution are adjusted. The test results show that the casting speed of Φ150mm billet can be increased from 2.0m/min to 2.5m/min, the surface temperature is reasonably distributed and the billet quality is fine.
