Abstract The various surface defects are unavoidable in slab continue casting production, the use of automatic scarfing machine is a high-efficiency way to eliminate the surface defects and improve the surface quality. The technical parameters, equipment components, energy medium consumption, working principle and application performance of scarfing machine in slab continue casting at Benxi steel were introduced.
