Abstract In the production process of No.2 slab caster of Meishan Steel-Making Plant, the breakout accidents often occur more frequently, and at the same time the number of false alarm positives, seriously affects the slab quality and production efficiency of the caster.In view of this situation, Meishan Steel self-developed breakout prediction system for No.2 slab caster,and then put it into use. After that the sticking breakout was completely avoided, the problem was solved and the substantial costs were saved for the company.
