Design and practice of hot-strand pressure for round bloom continuous casting |

Abstract For the problems of surface indentation defect and ovality defect occurred from larger mechanical deformation in round bloom casting, with the comprehensive consideration of the balance design between withdrawal resistance and downslide force, the rule for establishment of hot strand pressure had been developed. It was shown that the reliability on control ovality defect from larger surface indentation had been verified.
