Abstract The production process of 65 high carbon steel by 120 t top and bottom combined blown converter-LF refining furnace-continuous casting was introduced. The technical route and measures of 65 high-grade high carbon steel billet production were put forward. Practice showed that increasing converter steel carbon, continuous casting with low superheat at reasonable speed and secondary cooling water, and the mold electromagnetic stirring parameter were the key to producing high carbon steel. It can meet the requirement of surface and internal qualities of the national standard by using the process for producing 65 steel billets.
