Abstract The water-cooled box type steel beam is used as oscillation supporting beam， which has the advantage of simple structure， convenience and practicality. However， it is prone to cause some problems such as insufficient stiffness and oscillation interference. Combined with related billet caster engineering， detecting and modifying the oscillation supporting beams， provides reference for similar oscillation supporting beams.
