Abstract:The welds of limiting components of the nuclear power main steam super pipelines belongs to T-type welds. There are mature inspection standards and methods for the detection of such welds, but the positioning method of defects is not clearly specified, and it is usually determined by the inspectors. In some cases, the defect positioning results have large deviations, which causes great trouble for repair. According to the geometric characteristic of super steam pipelines as well as the geometrical relationship between weld defect location and structure, an effective defect positioning method was established. The results indicated that the proposed method was very effective to reduce the cumulative measurement error and improve the positioning accuracy.
