Effect of austenitizing temperature on strength-toughness of high strength steel 15Cr2MnNi2TiA |

Abstract The effect of austenitizing temperature on strength-toughness of low alloy high strength steel 15Cr2MnNi2TiA was investigated by analysis techniques of optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the mechanical properties of steel reached the best strength-toughness matching at austenitizing temperature of 830 ℃ and aging treatment temperature of 170 ℃, i.e., the tensile strength was 1 339 MPa, the yield strength was 1 131 MPa, the elongation was 13%, the percentage reduction of area was 66 %, the impact absorption work was 200.2 J, and the hardness was 372HBW.
