Effect of Tempering Temperature on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of XCQ16 Axle Steel

Abstract

Effect of tempering process on the microstructure and mechanical properties of XCQ16 steel was investigated. The results show that XCQ16 steel present a wider tempering temperature range. The XCQ16 steel can obtain a favorable match between strength and toughness when quenching at 860 ℃ followed by tempering at 570 ℃.
