Finite element simulation of slab induction heating during continuous casting-direct rolling process
-
Abstract
The electromagnetic induction heating technology was studied during the continuous casting-direct rolling process, and the problem of slab compensation heating was solved through the application of longitudinal flux and transverse flux induction heating. The finite element model of induction heating was established based on the results of air cooling temperature field. By using the secondary development of ANSYS based on VB, the induction heating during the relative motion of the slab and coil was computed through three dimensional finite element simulation. The results show that the corner temperature of the slab is still low after longitudinal flux induction heating; the corner temperature of the slab can be improved by transverse flux induction heating effectively, and the combination of the two methods possesses a certain instructive significance to continuous casting-direct rolling.
