Abstract:The phenomena and mechanism of nucleation of intra-granular ferrite in welding heat affected zone of Mg treated high-grade pipeline steel was studied by using thermal simulation,EBSD and transmission electron microscope. The results indicate that the inclusions in Mg treated steel are A1,Ti,Mg composite oxides with size in the range of 0.5-3μm.Mg composite oxides could promote the formation of acicular ferrite in coarse grain heat affected zone.The nucleation mechanisms of intragranular ferrite in Mg Treated high-grade pipeline steel was discussed.
