Abstract:3D coupled thermomechanical finite element model for simulating hot strip rolling was developed by using commercial FEM software ANSYS/LSDYNA. Influence of chemical composition and processing parameters, such as entry thickness, temperature, work roll diameter, reduction rate and Nb content, on strain distribution in deformation zone was analyzed. The results indicate that all of the above mentioned factors had different influence on strain in the thickness direction. The uniformity of deformation during hot rolling could be improved by properly increasing the slab thickness and adopting large reduction rate on first stands.
