Abstract:The effect of microstructure, precipitation of second phase on strength of SPHC produced by CSP (compact strip production) were investigated. The yield strength of SPHC produced both by CSP and by traditional technology were compared. The results show that the calculated yield strength of SPHC produced by CSP is 42 MPa lower than measured, but the measured and calculated yield strength of SPHC produced by traditional technology are the same. The TEM observation shows that there are three kinds of particles which sizes are nanoscale, submicronscale, and microscale in the steel produced by CSP. Precipitating strengthening contributes 40 MPa to the yield strength of SPHC produced by CSP.
