Abstract:From the copperplate temperature collected on-line in different conditions and different time with the application of the mold temperature monitoring system of the continuous thin slab caster in Maanshan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd, the copperplate temperature change regularity of the mold arc lateral side has been analyzed. On this basis, in light of the actual cooling parameter of mold and observed temperature of copperplate, the heat flux fields of mold has been calculated when produced the SPHC steel with the pouring sectional areas of 1275mm × 70mm and 1525mm × 70mm at different casting rate. The results show that under the same conditions copper mold temperature and heat flux has a similar distribution pattern, and they gradually decline on vertical mold. Also in the horizontal there are obvious fluctuation which are particularly intense closed to the meniscus. When casting the slab of 1275mm and 1525mm in width with the same nozzle, it will present "M" and "W" in shape respectively when describing the distribution of copper mold temperature and heat flux in width which is 82mm below the meniscus on the mold fixed side. That is, the highest values of the copper temperature and the heat flux are reached in a quarter of the copperplate in width and the centerline, respectively. At cast speed 4.5m/min, the largest heat flux of copper mold can be reached 4.6MW/m2.
