Abstract:The synthesis of potash fertilizer from desiliconization slag and potassium carbonate, and the dissolution rate of potassium from potash fertilizer different conditions were studied. The influence of amount of potassium oxide addition, heating temperature, holding time and cooling mode on crystallizability of and dissolution rate of potassium from potash fertilizer were investigated. The results showed that the potash fertilizer can be synthesized with desiliconized slag and potassium carbonate, and is composed of amorphous potassium containing compounds. The dissolution rate of potassium from fertilizer in water is less than that in aqueous citric acid solution and much less than that from widely used fertilizer of potassium sulphate. The fact shows that the potash fertilizer synthesized with desiliconized slag has an obvious property of slow release. The effect of heating temperature, holding time and cooling mode on its crystallizability and dissolution rate of potassium is not obvious.
