Analysis of Thermodynamic Mechanism of Deformation Induced Ferrite Transformation

Abstract:The issue whether the deformation of thermal simulation will change the magnetic free energy of paramagnetic austenite providing the driving force for phase change was studied with thermodynamics principle.The FeNiCr alloy of paramagnetic austenite at roomtemperature was selected. The samples deformed under different conditions were studied by Xray diffraction and vibrating specimen magnetometer (VSM) and the results showed that a certain deformation may change the magnetization of paramagnetic austenite and the magnetization and magnetic free energy reduce gradually with the increase of the strain, The modifying factor of thermodynamic model of DIFT was propesed with consideration of magnetic free energy by analyzing the reason of magnetic free energy drop.
