Abstract:Coke making experiments with different waste plastic such as PE, PP, PET, PS, and PVC after dechlorination were carried out in 20kg coke oven. The influence of different waste plastic on the coke strength, CRI and CSR was studied based on co-carbonization behavior between coal and waste plastic by using thermo gravimetric analyses as well. The result showed that the temperature range of decomposition and DTG curve distribution of different individual coal and waste plastic determined the coke properties. Coke strength produced from high rank coal decreased after blending with all kinds of waste plastic. Among all tested waste plastics, PS and PET showed worse co-operation with coals in coke making process.
