Abstract:A finite element model for drawing process of high carbon wire with inner microdefects was built. With the model, the effect of drawing parameters on extension of defects in drawing process was studied. The results show that the optimized angle of drawing die is about 8°. Jintegral increases with the increase of angle of drawing die and the friction coefficient between drawing die and wire. When the angle of drawing die is less than 8°, Jintegral is tended to be a constant. The critical size of inner microdefects is 3040 μm. The calculated results were proved by experiment.
